Your motorbike guide to the Canary Islands

I’m Javier, founder and owner of ORME (Off Road Motorcycle Experience). I was born in 1971 on the island of Gran Canaria, but my true home is here in Fuerteventura, where I’ve lived permanently since 1994.
This island, with its desert landscapes, perfect climate, and tranquil atmosphere, has not only become the place where I live with my family but also the backdrop for my greatest passion: off-road motorbiking.
A home and a shared passion
My family is a central part of my life here. I live with my wife, Samantha, who moved from London in 1999, and our two children, Marcos and Luis, who were born and raised in Fuerteventura. Together, we share something that deeply connects us: our passion for motorbikes.
Fuerteventura, with its vast network of public dirt tracks, is a unique place for off-road enthusiasts. Since I first got on a trail bike, I haven’t stopped exploring this island and the rest of the Canary Islands. Each ride is a new opportunity to discover unusual landscapes, open spaces, and the magic of nature, always accompanied by the ever-present Atlantic Ocean.
My connection with the island and motorbikes
Fuerteventura captured my heart from the very first moment. Here, I found a paradise for those of us who love trail riding:
- Deserted and tranquil landscapes: Perfect for disconnecting and connecting with oneself.
- The ideal climate: With mild temperatures year-round, there’s no better place to enjoy motorbiking.
- The simplicity of the surroundings: Uninhabited yet welcoming, vast yet filled with small details.
The motorbike has become for me more than just a means of transportation or a hobby: it’s a machine of happiness. My life revolves around it: my work, my free time, my vacations, and even my dreams are all filled with this passion.
Riding motorbikes: My way of life
I’m a calm rider. I’m never in a rush, and I’ve never competed. For me, riding a motorbike is a form of moving meditation:
- It’s like yoga on wheels, allowing me to find peace and balance.
- It’s a way to explore the world, understand how nature works, and appreciate the small details of life.
Riding a motorbike is not just about traveling on roads; it’s an experience that connects the mind, body, and soul with the surroundings. That same tranquility and respect for the environment is what I want to share with you on every tour.
Road Motorcycles in the Canary Islands
The Canary Islands are also an exceptional destination for those of us who enjoy road motorcycling. Here, work, everyday life and leisure time naturally blend together, with the motorcycle always present as a constant part of my daily routine. Every journey, whether short or long, becomes an experience that goes far beyond simply riding.

Perfect weather all year round:
Mild temperatures and very little seasonal variation make it possible to enjoy riding almost every day of the year, without long interruptions caused by cold weather or harsh conditions.
Light traffic:
Outside the main urban areas, the roads offer calm and smooth riding conditions, ideal for travelling safely while fully enjoying the journey.
Excellent tarmac roads:
The islands offer well-maintained routes, technical curves and spectacular landscapes that turn every ride into a unique experience for any asphalt enthusiast.
Outstanding gastronomy:
Every route can also become a culinary journey, with stops along the way to discover local cuisine, fresh products and the warm hospitality that characterises the islands.
I feel truly privileged to share long, enjoyable and unforgettable motorcycle routes with friends and visitors from across Europe and around the world, riding all kinds of bikes — both off-road and on-road — while discovering the true essence of these islands on two wheels.
Beyond Fuerteventura: Adventures on two wheels
With my children now grown and busy, I’ve spent the last few years exploring the world on a motorbike. My travels have taken me to incredible places, and my list of destinations keeps growing. Each adventure inspires me and deepens my love for motorbikes, as well as my desire to share this passion with others.
Your guide and adventure companion
When you book a tour with ORME, I will be the one to accompany you as your guide and instructor. My goal is for every experience to be as unique and enriching for you as it is for me every time I get on a motorbike.
- If you’re already experienced: It will be a pleasure to learn from you and share knowledge about routes and techniques.
- If you’re a beginner: I’ll teach you with patience and safety, helping you discover the thrill and joy of off-road riding.
I love teaching and sharing my passion because I know that every new rider becomes an ambassador for this incredible lifestyle.
